THOMAS JUUL-HANSEN DESIGNER
Born and raised in Copenhagen, Thomas Juul-Hansen was educated at the University of Miami and Harvard University Graduate School of Design. After working at Richard Meier and Partners Architects in New York, he founded Thomas Juul-Hansen, LLC in 2003. Juul- Hansen has developed a diverse body of design work that includes residential, hospitality, retail, and interiors, where he explores unique and innovative solutions for each project. Fundamental to this pursuit is the belief that quality of design is a progressive process informed by the forces of site and circumstance, culture and climate, program and function.
Completed projects include 505W19 on the Chelsea High Line in New York; Belgravia Gate in London; 210 and 221 West 77 on the Upper West Side in New York; 300 Collins on South Beach in Miami; 50 West in New York; and one57 in New York. Current projects under way include Sutton Tower, 401 West, 199 Chrystie Street and 96+Broadway in New York. Additionally, the firm has designed several private residential commissions for clients including Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, and jeweler David Yurman. Juul-Hansen has also executed numerous fine restaurants for Chef Jean-Georges, including the NYC flagship Jean-Georges, Nougatine, JoJo, and Perry St, to mention a few. Other restaurant designs include Scarpetta in Nomad, New York and The North Fork Table by Chef John Fraser in Southold, New York.
